Joseph R. Rubino holds the position of Director, Global Surface Care, R&D, Shared Services. Previously he was Senior Technical Director, Home Health Sciences, at Reckitt Benckiser (formerly Reckitt & Colman, Inc.) Joe joined Reckitt & Colman, formerly L&F Products, in 1987 as Group Leader, Microbiology, advancing to Section Manager, Biological Sciences in 1991 and to Director, Biological Sciences in 1995. Joe was previously with Gibraltar Biological Laboratories as a Microbiologist beginning in 1980, followed by an assignment as Manager, Microbiology, and then advancing to Assistant Scientific Director in 1984. Joe began his career in 1979 as a Biology Teacher at Lodi High School.
Joe holds a B.A. in Biology from Upsala College, as well as an M.A. in Biology from Montclair State College. He also attended New York Medical College studying various aspects of public health.
Joe is active in several trade and professional associations including the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), the Consumer Specialties Products Association (CSPA), SDA and Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC). He served as chair person for the Antimicrobial Scientific Committee at CSMA from 1990-1995. Joe is also a member of the New York Academy of Science.
Joe has co-authored a number of papers on antimicrobial agents, transmission of infectious agents and infection control strategies and has presented papers on numerous occasions at major scientific and trade organization meetings including ASM, CPSA, SDA and the Pasteur Institute.
