Clean hands can be the most powerful weapon on earth for defeating infection. -- Professor Tierno, USA

The Hygiene Council understands that it’s not practical or desirable to make a home completely germ-free. Instead, it’s important to pay attention to areas that represent the greatest risk – the ‘Hygiene Hotspots’. The Hygiene Council has developed a clear set of practical recommendations to help us all practice good hygiene. The Hygiene Standards focus on four key areas that we should monitor for good home hygiene; your hands, household surfaces, food preparation, cooking and storage and the laundry!

Good Hygiene is ‘in your hands’ – so it’s up to you to take control, be aware and put good hygiene into practice!

The Hygiene Standards from the Hygiene Council:
Your Health in Your Hands
How to Keep Surfaces Safe
Food Preperation, Cooking & Storage
Don't Forget the Laundry
